tomholland* the most important thing, in anything you do, is always try your hardest, because even if you try your hardest and it's not as good as you'd hoped, you still have that sense of not letting yourself down. i say i think you say "Get your lazy ass up!" The piercing voice of none other than his sister came barging into the room as the door flung open, slamming against the wall causing Tom to jump awake in his sleep though his eyes remained partially closed. Mumbling incoherently, he threw his head further into his pillow, desperately trying to block her out, hoping that the more he cuddled under the covers, the sheets would swallow him up and she'd leave. But all hopes and dreams were crushed at some point. "Don't you dare ignore me Thomas Stanley Holland or I will forcefully rip you out of that bed by your ankles!" Slamming a heeled foot to the hardwood floor, Emma crossed her arms against her chest, smoke practically flying out of her ears. Tom groaned, covering his face with his hands, desperately seeking sleep. "Please Emma, give me another five minutes." He moaned out, trying to find that peace of mind he was just in before Emma came into the room like her ass was on fire. "I'm giving you to the count of three to get up or God so help me Tom, I will murder you," Her eyes burned against his skin as she glared in Tom's direction, "One..." She emphasized purposely, "Two..." She raised her voice louder, "Thr—" "For the love of God, please shut up!" Tom barked, his temper running thin. Feeling fairly feisty this morning as she stood her ground, Emma refused to fall under Tom's wrath. Emma locked her jaw tight, gritting her teeth together. "Whatever," She hissed at Tom, "did you forget that you have morning classes today or?"Widening his eyes in realization, he shot up in bed, the blanket that oh-so comfortably kept him warm fell letting the cold breeze flash through him, bringing a sudden chill down his body. "What time is it?" "It's a quarter to seven which means you have about ten minutes to shower, get dressed and eat before we have to leave." Checking her watch, she scoffed, "and in this case you might as well skip it all and just get dressed because you don't have much time to do it all." "Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck fuck," Tom muttered under his breath as he slipped out of bed, searching around the room for something decent to wear. ○ ○ ○ "This is ridiculous! If I would have known you were going to do this, I would have gotten a ride from mom." Emma moaned and groaned as she gradually made her way down the stairs. "Oh pipe down Emma, you're giving me a migraine." Tom snapped, rubbing his head in emphasis to his words. "You have quite a sharp tongue on you, do you ever put it to any use or do you just nag all the time?" Dropping her mouth to the ground, Emma flushed white as all the color in her cheeks disappeared. "You're an asshole!" Shooting her a sarcastic smile, Tom grabbed his keys from where he had last put them whilst sliding on his jacket. Emma opened the front door before stomping out and down the pathway towards the car. ○ ○ ○ Turning the wheel, Tom parked his car in the usual parking lot for students. Emma quickly gathered her things and opened the door, shutting it close right after. Casually grabbing his backpack, Tom also exited out of the car, closing the door and eventually locking it. "I'll see you in class, bitch!" Emma called out, giving him a two finger wave as she blew him a kiss before turning and walking to school. Shooting her a grin, he chuckled. "Have fun being a freshie, love ya!" He called out, walking towards the school building. TEMPLATE BY ELIZA @ SP & ADOXOGRAPHY

Melanie had spent so many hours in front of her mirror, that she hadn't even noticed the time until she received a text message from one of her girlfriends saying that she was waiting outside. "Coming!" She texted back. She scrambled to grab her bag and slipped on her converse shoes before flying out the front door and jumping into her friends red Honda Civic.
"What took you so long?" Her friend asked. Melanie was busy putting on her seat belt and checking Facebook on her phone to even hear what her best friend Alice was even saying. "Yeah..." she would reply to almost every sentence she said.
When they got to the school, Alice let her out at the front before leaving to park the car. She sighed, fussing with her long, black hair as she wished her mom would let her get her own license. She was a senior this year and probably the only one without a car. She stood there biting her lip, unsure of whether she even wanted to be here today.

tomholland* the most important thing, in anything you do, is always try your hardest, because even if you try your hardest and it's not as good as you'd hoped, you still have that sense of not letting yourself down. i say i think you say Entering the school building, Tom made his way through the crowded hallway, avoiding as much eye contact as possible. The main thing he was trying to focus on was getting to his locker and manage t get to first period on time. Reaching his locker, he entered the code before pulling it open to gather books and paper work he needed. "Hey!" Someone exclaimed behind him. Looking behind his shoulder, it was none other than his best friend Ned. Seeing his best friend's face again was great, considering they've both been so busy with life. "Hey, what's up man! I've missed you!" He called out, shooting him a warm grin. "I've missed you too, we have a lot of catching up to do." Definitely.
Turning back to finish gathering his books, Ned started explaining to him about his life and where he's planning on going to next after high school. Need hasn't always been the smartest compared to Tom, but he said something along the lines about wanting to study physics. Raising an eyebrow out of curiosity, Tom looked at him with surprise. "Never knew you were into physics? What made you want to start learning?" "I was inspired by you! Considering you're insanely smart, taking all honor classes, and getting a lot of acceptance leters from colleges that are hard to get into?! That's pretty fucking cool." He gushed, grinning.
Pulling the corner of his mouth to the side, Tom slightly shook his head. "Yeah, I guess. I mean if you put all the bullying and dirty looks aside, I guess you can call it 'cool'." He expressed, putting two fingers in the air to quote around the word cool. You see, Tom was never the 'cool kid'. He was always that kind of person who's ignored and bullied by other students for his intelligence and liking's. As much as Tom would love to fit in, he knows it would never happen. "C'mon man, don't be so hard on yourself." Ned said, feeling some sympathy towards Tom. Shrugging his shoulders, Tom closed his locker door once the bell rung. "I gotta get to my first class, see ya around?" He questioned, "Yeah, I'll see you after class."

Melanie waited till her friend skipped her way over to her before the walked side by side into the school. Melanie didn't like lockers, so she didn't have to stop by one. Alice insisted that she follow her to her locker and Melanie did so while checking text messages on her phone. Unlike most, she only got texts from her parents rather than friends or a boyfriend. Alice was grounded again so she wouldn't have her phone for two weeks.
Alice talked about first period which unfortunately, they were in different home rooms this year so Melanie would be alone. She adjusted the strap on her shoulder as the blonde girl asked her about what classes she was taking this year. With her smarts, Melanie was taking all Honors this year and entrance classes for College. Alice squealed in excitement for her but Melanie just wanted to get to class. She wished her friend well and headed to class just as the bell rang.
She picked a seat at the front, the very front, in the middle. The teacher explained she had no seating chart and that her name was Mrs. Herman. Melanie sat there and waited as more students entered the room. She pulled out one of her favorite books, The Gathering, and began to read as she waited for class to start.

Walking to class, he began dreading going. Although he loved learning new things, he hated having people always stare at him and start giggling whenever he walked into a classroom. Hopefully by the time he reached the classroom, he would be the very first one to arrive so he can avoid that happening.
Pushing the door open, Tom's eyes scanned the classroom. Thank god, there was only one student in the classroom for now. Looking at her, he raised an eyebrow. He hasn't seen her before, was she new? Or maybe Tom just never cared enough to look at anyone in his classroom and never really realized her in his classes before.
She seemed pretty peaceful sitting there, reading a book. Grabbing onto the straps of his backpack, he made his way across the classroom before a familiar voice called out. "Welcome, Tom! Nice to see you again!" He turned to look and it was none other than Mrs. Herman. Smiling towards her direction, he was relieved to see her again. Mrs. Herman was one of Tom's favorite teachers. She was always so lenient and that's what he liked about her. "It's nice to see you, too."
"Feel free to help yourself and sit wherever you'd like!" She mentioned, gesturing the seats with her hand. Nodding, he turned his attention back to the girl. Would it be a bother if he were to sit right behind her? Worth a try. Making his way to a seat behind her, he let his backpack slide off his shoulders before he sat down. Well, this is kinda awkward. Sitting down, he opened up his backpack before getting out his utensils. He wanted to talk to this girl but he was kinda nervous that he'd disrupt her reading, and he knows how annoying that can be. Clearing his throat, he managed to say a couple of words. "Hope it's not a problem to sit behind you."

Melanie enjoyed her book so much that she was oblivious to anyone around her. She had reached the end of page 120 before a voice spoke behind her. She put her book down on her desk and glanced behind her to see a boy with dark hair sitting there. "No problem." She said, trying to remember who this boy was if she knew him at all. "Do I know you?" She asked? He didn't look like he lived in her neighborhood. She adjust the strap of her red tank top as she waited for a reply.

tomholland* the most important thing, in anything you do, is always try your hardest, because even if you try your hardest and it's not as good as you'd hoped, you still have that sense of not letting yourself down. i say i think you say Tom settled back in his chair once the girl in front of him turned around to look at him. She was very pretty; dark brown hair and big, dark eyes. Almost the same features as his sister, Emma. "No problem." She spoke. Nodding, he shifted his gaze at his desk before she asked, "Do I know you?" Lifting his gaze back up, he slightly smiled. No, not really.
"Oh right, my bad. The name is Tom. Tom Holland." He greeted himself, trying his best to soothe down the awkwardness between them. "I've never really seen you around before. Are you new?" He questioned. Surely she had to be new, right? And if not, then he just really made a huge fool of himself. Sighing, he tried his best to soothe down his nerves. He was probably looking like a huge freak right now with the way he's acting. Turning his attention back to Mrs. Herman. She seemed too distracted with her paper work, thank God.
Looking behind his shoulder, he checked the clock. Soon all the other students will be filling up the rest of the classroom and maybe they won't have to talk anymore, which he didn't seem to mind at all. He only came here to learn, not to try to interact with other people. Besides, who would even want to interact with him? Absolutely no one. Looking back at her, he shot her another smile.
Nice going, you idiot. You're making yourself seem impatient and like you wanna get the hell out of here.

She watched him, raising a brow as he seemed to squirm in his chair. "No...I'm not new here." She replied, unsure if she should be talking to someone who didn't want to talk. At least that was what she though. "I've been here since freshman year." She explained. "I skipped Junior year though so I wasn't here for a year once the school wouldn't let me into Senior classes." She bit her lip. She didn't want him to know she had money. Could he tell that?! She didn't drive like the other kids, let alone go out to fun parties since her family kept her at home studying. The thoughts made her feel uncomfortable. She started to fidget and fuss with her long wavy hair. 'Oh please don't ask me about my parents!' She screamed to herself.

tomholland* the most important thing, in anything you do, is always try your hardest, because even if you try your hardest and it's not as good as you'd hoped, you still have that sense of not letting yourself down. i say i think you say If Ned was here right now, he'd probably be smacking him in the back of the head, telling him to knock it off and play it cool. God, he wishes Ned was here. It would make things a whole lot easier, especially since Ned is always the one being able to keep the conversation going and making new friends. The fact that him and Ned are even best friends is surprising to him, considering it just.. happened. They clicked. He could easily talk to this girl.
"No... I'm not new here. I've been here since freshman year." She mentioned. Great. Now he has to apologize. "My bad. I don't really talk to very many people at this school, so I don't pay attention to anyone unless it's my best friend." Hey, at least he's telling the truth. No one ever really invites him over to events, asks him to be friends, or anything. It's usually always Ned. And the way they spend their time is by sitting at home, playing video games or building cool projects together. Which is something that Tom doesn't mind. Having Ned around is great.
"I skipped Junior year though so I wasn't here for a year once the school wouldn't let me into Senior classes." Becoming curious, Tom raised an eyebrow. Maybe that's why Tom never really noticed her throughout his high school years. "So what did you do during that year? Were you home-schooled?" Watching her body language, he noticed that she started to fidget and become uncomfortable in her chair. Biting his bottom lip, he started to feel slightly unsure. Did he say something wrong to make her uncomfortable? Maybe she didn't want to talk to him anymore, considering all the other students will be coming soon. "You don't have to explain yourself, it's alright." He reassured.

When he spoke again, Melanie was pleased to find a topic she actually liked talking about. "No, no! fine." She blurted out. "My parents sent me to live out on a ranch. I learned to help with horse raising and cattle drives. It was quite different from the towns and cities I'm used to being around." She smiled at him. "I go out there almost every weekend now to take care of things when the owners are out on temporary leave." She tilted her head. "What do you do for fun?"

tomholland* the most important thing, in anything you do, is always try your hardest, because even if you try your hardest and it's not as good as you'd hoped, you still have that sense of not letting yourself down. i say i think you say His worries suddenly faded away when she quickly reassured him that everything was fine. He still curiously looked at her, studying her body language and features. "My parents sent me to live out on a ranch. I learned to help with horse raising and cattle drives." Horse raising and cattle drives? That seems pretty interesting. Listening intently to what she had to say, he smiled back at her. "Working on a ranch? That's pretty cool. I've never really had a chance to do that, although I've always wanted to ride a horse!"
It was true. Tom always wanted to go out and do fun things instead of staying at home, studying and being alone with his aunt. "It was quite different from the towns and cities I'm used to being around." Looking at her, he began to become even more curious. "I'm guessing you've been around to a lot of places?" He asked, slightly fiddling with his fingers. "Pretty neat how you can go out and do fun things.." I'm usually just at home with my aunt. The most Tom has ever done is hang out with Ned, but that's about it. He's always been craving to do more outside of his life, especially since he's still a teenager. The fact that this girl has done something different in her life is quite amazing.
Pretty jealous if you'd ask me.
"What do you do for fun?" Straying away from his thoughts, Tom looked at her. Taking in a breath to speak, he was suddenly interrupted when the rest of the students came coming in like a swarm of animals. Looking towards the door, he began to brace himself. "What's up, faggot?" Called out someone, laughing in the process. "It's nice to see you too, Bryce." Ah, yes. Bryce. The one person who would never leave him alone.
Clearing his throat, he looked back at the teenager. "Don't mind him." He reassured. Fiddling with his fingers, he slightly shifted in his chair to get himself more comfortable. Maybe it's best if they stop talking at this point, he doesn't want to tangle her into this. Hell, he doesn't even want to make her seem like a loser for talking to him. "I'm just usually staying at home with my aunt. I don't really do much besides hang out with my best friend, Ned."

Melanie nodded as Tom acknowledged her time spent on the ranch. She shook her head. "I don't always go out, just when my parents are away on long business trips." 'Caeful, girl or you'll give yourself away!' She smiled at him.
When a boy walked in and called Tom names she gave the boy a glare before turning back to Tom as he assured her not to worry. "Its good that you spend time with family." She said, feeling slightly jealous. She moved to turn back around as she felt class was about to begin. "Well...it was nice talking to you." She said. It was then that Alice came and took a seat next to her and excitedly began to explain that she had seen her ex boyfriend in the hallway.
"Didn't he cheat on you?" Melanie asked. Alice gave her a look and retorted that things might be better for the two of them this year. Melanie rolled her eyes at Alice and regretted it. "Besides I saw you talking with Tom." She said, elbowing her. "Do you know him?" Melanie asked, raising a brow. Melanie raised hers back. "Hes not even rich!" Alice exclaimed. "Why would you even mingle with such riffraff?" "I don't need your friend guidance." Melanie hissed, hoping tom wasn't listening. "He doesn't need to know." She watched Alice scribble something on a piece of scratch paper before slapping it on Tom's desk. Melanie panicked. "What did you do?!" She whispered harshly. Alice grinned at her and Melanie didn't get a chance to say anything more as the teacher began speaking.

tomholland* the most important thing, in anything you do, is always try your hardest, because even if you try your hardest and it's not as good as you'd hoped, you still have that sense of not letting yourself down. i say i think you say Tom listened to her when she started explaining about how she doesn't always goes out. The only time she's able to is when her family is out on business trips. Business trips? Are her parents celebrities or some shit? Maybe they just work at a different area that requires them to take trips every now and then. He bit down on his lip as he started to become curious. As much as he wanted to ask her, he decided to keep it to himself.
Besides, he's hardly even getting to know her, let alone talking to her. It would be kinda weird for him to keep asking her questions, and it might make him seem pushy or desperate to know about her life. Which is something Tom doesn't want to portray as. He noticed that she seemed to have given Bryce a dirty look when he called him a 'faggot'. Hoping that she doesn't say something back to him, she seemed to have shrugged it off once Tom told her to not worry about it. Thank God. Tom already has too much drama in his life, so having even more drama pile up is too much. Especially on the first day of school.
"It's good you spend time with family." She pointed out, before turning back to the front. What family? The only 'family' he has right now is his aunt. God knows where his parents are, they left him and sister to their aunt when Tom was a little kid and Emma was just barely a newborn. If anything, his aunt is all that he's got left in his life. She's the only one who Tom can trust. Slightly nodding in agreement, he opened up his notebook and managed to grab a pencil to start writing notes on the teacher's upcoming lecture. "Well... it was nice talking to you." "Nice talking to you, too."
Before Tom could even ask for her name, he noticed another girl walk into the classroom to sit next to her. The only thing Tom was able to hear from these two was when the other girl, who seemed to be a friend of hers, started to exclaim excitedly about how she saw her ex down the hallway. Slightly rolling his eyes at her commentary, he chuckled. Girls and their exes. Sighing, he tried to turn his attention back to the teacher. These two seemed to be whispering at each other. Were they talking about him? The girl is probably telling her on how lame he is and how she shouldn't be talking to someone like him.
Before Tom could even start doing anything, he noticed the girl write something on a piece of paper and slapped it onto his desk. Raising an eyebrow out of curiosity, he looked at the girl who seemed to be looking at her, a large grin on her face. Setting his pencil back onto his desk, he grabbed the note and looked at it. It had a.. number? Feeling confused, he looked back at the girl. Did this chick really just give him her phone number? I mean, Tom has seen her around before, but they've never really talked. They'd have some conversations here and there, but it wasn't anything meaningful. It was mostly just simple stuff like asking for a pencil or a piece of paper.
Nobody has ever really given Tom anything, let alone a phone number.

Melanie sat quietly throughout the lecture, dread curling into her mind. Alice had found a new seat next to her ex, leaving Melanie to her worries. She had her notebook open in front of her, jotting down notes. All that time...she dreaded what Tom might be thinking. She was scared to check her phone.
At the end of the lecture, she grabbed her bag without so much as a glance at Tom. She had chemistry first. She wanted to get to the cafeteria for a snack and wen there first since they had 15 minutes pass time. She grabbed a bag of chips and a Sprite and sat down at one of the tables, sighing. She had her phone next to her, but she still didn't look at it.
